Welcome to the Maragon 2010.
EVENT STARTING TIMES:
14:00 BST KAMADAN EURO ENGLISH DISTRICT 1 = SATURDAY the 27th FEB 2010.
14:00 BST LIONS ARCH EURO ENGLISH DISTRICT 1 = SUNDAY the 28th FEB 2010.
The intention of this event is to celebrate the 4th successful year of [KISS]Alliance as an entity; Hence forth the Alliance's 4th BIRTHDAY!
We invite everyone to muster all those brain cells of yours to participate in our Maragon of Guild Wars: You will be required team up with other [KISS] members and find solutions to the riddles in order to progress through the Maragon; new runs, foe battles, rewards and most of all the fun as we venture forth into our second Maragon. The Maragon for 2010 will be more challenging for you guys, for the creators of the Maragon and the whole alliance of KISS! We will be testing our ability to host as we create yet again the largest event any guild in Guild Wars can muster.
Members and PUGs alike are welcome to join us as venture forth into all 4 campaigns of GuildWars. (Prophecies, Eye Of The North, Factions & Nightfall)
The Maragon is framed around a marathon through entire game to Guild Wars! Giving everyone the opportunity to partake in the team work & challenges towards actually using your brain not your brawn to succeed in achieving your goal and getting you and your team from one town to the next to keep up with Maragon host's and retrieve those FREE ITEMS that will be given to EVERYONE on achievement or entry to the required outpost's.
We have taken the liberty of inviting general members of KISS: to create Riddles, Runs and Rules & New ideas.
This will open your eyes to why you ever contemplated a question to yourself: Why did I join [KISS] or Why did I leave that friggin alliance.

I Dryder Must Alive was kidnapped by the bad bad bunny in our belated 3rd year Maragon that rolled into Easter: Members charged through 23 HOURS!! of brain paining riddles, laughs and gameplay as we ran from part A to part B of each Riddle.
2010
This year IDryder is BACK! In 2010 all of you out there wearing that nice shiny white cape Will be joining the Detective; as he hunts down the thief who took Dryder's belongings and several other items belonging to to KISS.

What You Do Now...
When Dryder Came To...
From now until the 27th of the February We ask that you;
Make time to complete all campaigns on At least one character
Help each other, as you will need each other to form team's
to run the Maragon through Saturday and Sunday 27th-28th.
The Maragon will Start at roughly 14:00pm BST (british Standard)
on Saturday; We ask that you Join the muster in:
Kamadan European English District 1 at the time stated.
Please do not argue over the time given as we do best for the
Most active time of [KISS] Alliance, & plenty of warning for you
to Make Arrangements If that is what you need to do.
We will be starting the Maragon with Nightfall Then Factions.
Sunday will Continue at the same time 14:00 (BST) in: -LA-
(Lions Arch) European English 1, (Prophecies and Moving
through Eye of the north. So that's 2 Campaign's each day,
Roughly 15 hours per day.
You are encouraged to find pugs on the day,
as stated under "Cruel Intentions"
Be sure you read absolutely all information provided,
The rules the riddles how to play fair.
Only after you read the whole post May you reply with a FAQ.

The task falls to you to chase down the thief and his loot,
You will be richly rewarded if you can trace his route.
My detective is hungover so I’ll send who I can,
Help the fool find where our treasure has ran.
Detective Numpty has gone on ahead,
He’s left you these clues like small crumbs of bread.
The thief may drop stuff since he's quite loaded down,
The detective can give you what evidence he's found.
'Cause he wanted my items; supposedly for 'clues'
But I found a reciept for some new leather shoes!

The best piece of advice we can give at this time is to read last years maragon and this years hosting, Talk to other members who participated in the Maragon 2009 & plan ahead because you have no idea whats to come !
Easy Guide "how to play the Maragon"
Hidden:
The Maragon for newbies.. (This is how you take part in the Maragon.) Step by step guide.
[1] Be online in kamadan european english district 1 at 14:00 uk time, (Figure out your own time zone) on saturday the 27th Feb 2010.
[2] Find your self a group: consisting of; (x) amount of pugs/kiss members Including one judge. (Shout LF JUDGE or LF PUG) in the district.
[3] Whilst you wait read the rules in this entire maragon thread under the (CRUEL INTENTIONS) Section.
[4] Take off your relevent armour piece's stated in cruel intentions.
[5] Have the website open at all times, (You will need this to read the riddles to play the Maragon)
[6] On the homepage Click on this image to find the riddle.
[7] Use the above link Image regular to keep up with the riddles (wich are posted one after the other) right click and refresh page for new riddles. IF required too.
[8] Once the Riddle is posted, Solve it with your team and run from Point (A) of the solved riddle, to Point (B).
[9] Once you have ran to Point (B) This means you have solved your riddle. Stay in your group and wait to be traded FREE ITEMS.!
[10] Wait for the next riddle to be posted *by refreshing the riddles page"
[11] Repeat step 2/4/5/6/7/8/9/10 all day until the event is finished.!
[12] Attend LA european english district 1 at 14:00 uk time on the 28th Feb 2010. (The day After) Repeat step 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11 to play the Maragon.

Cruel Intentions. (Rules)

There will be several rules implemented into the event, the idea of them all is to make it feel mere impossible to run selected area's, which will make you work better together. As expected there are very good players in KISS and Guild Wars but, I James, intend to dent your abilities in the best possible ways,..I can think of.
We the host's of the Maragon will also implement requirements into your event and the way you play it. Just like the Maragon for 2009.

As some of you may know, we like to spice things up in
these events. Last year, Perma builds were banned.
Its time we gave you all abit more of a challenge.
So get your kit off KISS its time for the 50/50 rule!
Now for the 50/50 rule the concept is pretty simple.
Half the team are to dress with no
chest or gloves on (like picture A)
while the other half are not allowed to wear their
Leggings or shoes (Like picture B).
Its just to give you a bit more of a challenge.
This excludes Pugs unless they want participate.
Why not share the love? We've got more than enough
Lets show the pugs of Guild Wars our generosity
By showing this act of kindness to the pugs,
you & the pug get to make some new friends,
They get to see how much fun we really have in KISS,
Who knows! They might even end up joining as a result!
Some GM's of KISS today actually joined us through
The Maragon in 2009, They run there own guilds now!
So here is the deal You are required to PUG IT!!
We have set in place for the event and you Maragoners,
You need to catch yourself a pug or two.
Before you can leave town from, (point A)
Here is how:
4 party town = 1 judge 2 members 1 pug
Alternate: 1 judge 1 Member 2 Pugs
6 party town = 1 judge 3 members 2 Pugs
Alternate: 1 judge 1 or More members and Pug team
8 party town = 1 judge 5 members 3 Pugs
Alternate: 1 judge 1 or more members and Pug team
A Pug is a none kiss Member and should be stalked like this!
As with the other rules of the event, Judges will be making sure you follow this rule. If you get caught, well there will be consequences..... Guide lines.
You can use cons & consumables to reach your destination.
The Striptease is in place to dint your ability as a good player, and have a laugh in the process.
You can find a pug anyway you please you can go to kamadan with your Maragon group go to any town of any outpost Shout LFG PUG FREE PRIZES, What ever you think you need to do that will work to get you a pug, PAYMENT? Hmm... Anything goes,
If you choose to leave the guild to act pug, then that is your choice, Although you will ruin your chance to win obsidian armour & other high end prizes. IT will effect you severely.
If a judge asks you to ping your skill bar, remove a skill or your armour, or map back to part A of your Maragon you will do as asked or the judge is entitled to kick you from the group and find another player to fill the group and you will miss out.
You can solve your riddle and map to point (A) You can move around the game to find pugs but must go back to point (A)~the beginning of your current riddle.
You must at all times through out the Maragon Run from point (A)~Always being the starting point, to Point (B)_being the answer to the riddle. EG: If a riddle clearley states i was in Kamadan i saw the thief and he left town and ran to Consulate Docks This would mean Kamadan is POINT (A) which you can map to at any time!! and run from (A) to Consulate Docks would be Point (B) Wich is your destination.
ABSOLOUTLEY no costumes! to cover up wether or not you have obided by the 50/50 rule on removing your armour, (NO COSTUMES!!!)
No consumable tonics are to be used outside of town EG: YULETIDE TONICS & TRANSMOGRIFIER.
Do not cheat in your maragon EG: solve the riddle at hand and MAP straight to the answer/town you think is correct. IF YOU DO this you will be forced to leave the town and maybe even forced to opt out of the event completely!
Remember at all times.
Be nice to pugs you have a chance to set example that we are fun, not raging idiots.
Be mindful of prize givers (Try to imagine how you would feel if you was getting bashed around due to lack of patients & greed.
Do not moan about prizes you receive as or as much as it may be worth it is a free item and there is plenty to go around.
Once you solve your riddle and arrive at part (B) your party must stick together in its group to receive prizes MAKE YOUR PUG Aware of this (Because there is no telling if single players mapped to the town & districts just to get free Items, STICK TOGETHER.
A Person who is alone without a party or group will not receive any items what so ever.
Do not ruin it by being so called Rambo with a keyboard. You are hard and you will do what you want. End result we will kick you from the event or from the alliance.
Remember Most of all we Host the event as a master piece of fun and good will for our fellow members, We do not have to host it, We do not have to give away all these gifts in celebration of KISS & Its Birthday, We do not have to provide anything for anyone.
We do this because we want everyone including pugs to have fun and win some great prizes on behalf of [KISS]. Do not mess it up for us hosting it or for people taking part! Riddle Rules.
You are not to rage off, if you loose out it is no-ones fault at all.
If you receive nothing! the Maragon is still fun and it is not All about You!!
You do not shout the answers out over Ventrilo or alliance chat. (You will be kicked off vent for the period of the event)
You can share the riddle in your team channel on ventrilo with your team only. and the same applies in game.
In any solo riddle, situation, you are to never help a friend, in getting runner up prizes by giving answers over ventrilo or in game. Play fair.
Alliance Managers, Senior Officer Myself or the other Event Host's will not give you the answers so dont even ask.
Favoritism & Bribery is no use for this event so don't try.
Solo Riddles.
Hidden:
At several points through out the event, You will be forced to leave your groups and rush around like mad hatters for the high end prizes. Finding the riddles easy or hard would depend on you as a person and player knowledgeable to GuildWars and [KISS].
A Solo riddle will be Provided at the end of each campaign. This means once all of you have played in your teams through all of our Maragon riddles. The final riddle for that camaign will be revealed.
Friendly advice, Please read carefully.
Do not rage off and put your head through your monitor, you wont be able to see any more riddles.
Avoid, eating the mouse, This is an essential piece of hardware used for playing GuildWars.
Try your best to not slam your fist on the keyboard. If those keys come loose you could go blind, if you got smacked in the eye with the return key! Even worse you could not type an answer and there for might go blind in both eyes.
In any solo riddle, situation, you are to never help a friend, in getting runner up prizes by giving answers over ventrilo or in game. Play fair.
On a serious note the [KISS] Alliance have donated plenty for everyone to get something. top end prize or not. Remember we host this event for fun, not fury and we give high end prizes on a genuine winner (first come first served WITH PROOF of screen shots on our behalf) Please respect this.
Bare this in mind at all times; If someone solves the riddle and wins the prize do not give up trying unless told "There is sportsmanship prizes Available"

About Judging.
Hidden:
A Judge is a go between The event hosts and the Maragon runners. "The most important part of the entire EVENT.. It is a person who is active reliable and deemed trust worthy not to cheat. Judges will be available through out the whole event.
A GM, Officer, or member can judge for groups They are still 100% eligible for all prizes.
Judges are to be knowledgeable of only the 3 rules as follows:
skill BAN list.
Strip Tease.
Puggin it
Judges are to be friendly and helpful, in the best possible way.
If someone is not abiding by the 3 rules above then the judge can kick the person from the party.
If the Issue persists & it is from a [KISS] member Feel free to contact an Alliance Manager to deal with it.
Here is a simple Guide for the Judge's
All the judges will need to do is check the party including themselves.
Abide by all set rules & skill bans by having the party ping the build outside of town,
They are entitled to run with the group, or Die and watch.
A judge will not know the answers or where about to run too.
Each & every full group will need to have a judge in the group for prevent cheating.
Judge's are entitled to complain about cheaters to the host's of the event to ensure That if you
break the Maragon Guidelines and Rules, We can stop you from taking part quiet easily.
If a judge is cheating, Please do the right thing and contact an Alliance Manager.
You as a gamer will require to have a Judge in your group as stated under "Cruel Intentions" Before you can ever leave town and start your Maragon with [KISS].
ATTENTION Currently there is no where near enough Judges or people event interested in judging or Un-Aware and if this Issue is not improved the whole Maragon will not be hosted the entire thing will be called off due to lack of support from everyone.
The way we see it, Its not a hard job to fill. It does not stop anyone from winning anything and most of all.. If we can put the time in to Create the whole event for everyone to enjoy!!.. There should be absolutely no reason WHY we don't have YOUR SUPPORT.

With ectos at high price range at the moment the obby armour is a very nice reward @ roughly 1.4 million platinum.
1 Dhuum soul reaper. “Main prize for EOTN solo riddle.
Holding value of roughly 100ectos, 700.000 platinum.
4 Armbrace of Truth. “ONE revealed at the end of every campaign” Runner up prizes to the solo riddles.
Worth an average of 35ectos – 250.000 platinum.
Several Aion wing codes. Runner up to the solo riddles “sportsmanship prizes”
These hold no value in game “they actually cost money and you add the serial number to your account.
Note: The top prizes are only Eledgable to the members or [KISS] alliance.
Pugs & Guest's are welcome to have a go at the solo riddles for the pure fun of it.

Just read some of the previous thread (link on main page) and am really looking forward to it. Just hope you let me know the dates in advance so I can book it off :o
